Interior Water Heater Installation & Replacement in Arlington, TX

From attic platforms to garage closets, Drain One Plumbing sets up and connects the water heater inside your home so it is safe, code-compliant and easy to service later.

Water Heater Replacement Inside Your Arlington Home

Most water heaters in Arlington homes are tucked into a garage, hall closet, utility room or attic, and each spot has its own rules. An attic unit needs a sturdy platform and a drain pan piped to a safe discharge point. A garage unit may need to be raised off the floor and protected from vehicle impact. A closet unit needs proper clearance and combustion air. Before we set anything, we look at the space, the existing connections and the way your home is laid out, then size the replacement to fit.

Our interior work covers removing the old tank, setting the new unit, and reconnecting water supply lines, shutoff valves, gas or electrical connections, and the venting for gas models. We also check the temperature and pressure relief valve and its discharge line, and add an expansion tank where your system calls for one. When the job is done, we test for leaks, confirm the burner or elements are firing correctly, and show you where the shutoff valve and the pressure relief line are.

Safe Hookups, Venting and Connections Done Right

A water heater is only as safe as the connections around it. Gas models need a properly sized gas line, a sediment trap, a shutoff and a vent that draws combustion gases out of the home. Electric models need the right breaker, wiring and disconnect. Both types need a relief line that terminates where a release will not cause damage, and a drain pan wherever a leak would harm ceilings or finished floors.

We install new flexible connectors, dielectric fittings and shutoff valves so the next service call is faster and cheaper for you. If your gas supply needs work, we can handle it through our gas line installation and repair service. If your water pressure is high enough to shorten a tank’s life, we can check it and install or replace a regulator through our PRV installation and replacement service.

Signs Your Indoor Water Heater Needs Replacing

  • Rusty or discolored hot water, or a metallic taste
  • Rumbling or popping from the tank as sediment builds up
  • Moisture, rust streaks or pooling around the base
  • A tank that is 10 to 12 years old or more, or one that needs frequent repairs
  • Hot water that runs out faster than it used to.

North Texas water tends to carry minerals that build up in the bottom of the tank. Older tanks may have worn anode rods and heavy sediment, and both shorten the life of the unit. If you see leaking from the tank body itself, shut off the water and power or gas to the heater and call us. A leaking tank cannot be patched.

How Your Water Heater Connects to the Rest of Your Interior Plumbing

Your water heater does not work alone. Hard water can affect fixtures and appliances too, so a water purification system can protect the tank and the rest of your plumbing. If you are thinking about saving space or getting endless hot water, a tankless water heater may be a better fit for your home.
